Language Development PlansLanguage Development Plans (LDPs) are individually designed for EL students each academic year. Anyone who has an EL in his or her classroom should review the document to learn about the student's current proficiency levels, language objectives, and allowable accommodations. Adjustments to the plan can be made throughout the year, so ongoing communication between the classroom and EL teacher is important.
In an effort to make LDPs more readily available for teachers, the EL department will no longer disseminate digital or paper copies of LDPs; rather the documents will now be uploaded directly to Infinite Campus where they can be conveniently accessed at any time. Click below to learn more. |
Can-Do DescriptorsOnce teachers know a student's English proficiency score in the areas of reading, writing, speaking, and listening, they can reference WIDA's Can-Do Descriptors to help them differentiate instruction and gain a better idea of what should be expected of an EL given his or her current proficiency levels.
